Finn's Bedroom Tour

Hello Friday! This has been quite the week but I am happy we made it here and stoked for a day with the hubs home tomorrow. I’m beginning to feel like an actual blogger lately and thought it might be time for my first room tour- how exciting and also super vulnerable for some reason!

Finns room has always been such a special space to us. It was the place a couple of newbie parents giggled and day dreamed over their soon to be baby, the home of late night snuggles, and a bit of tears. Making this space warm and fun was so important to us. We didn’t want a room that was serious because we aren’t. We decided to go with an obvious mountain/woodland/adventure theme for his nursery and have no regrets! Its obviously very fitting for our lifestyle and a theme that can grow as Finn does- I have some VERY fun toddler updates happening after he turns two.

The very first thing we decided to do was his mural. The geometric vibe was kind of an accident but we ended up loving how different it was from the other woodland nurseries we had seen. We chose a calming green/blue color scheme. We didn’t want anything too bold.

The nightstand is Ethan Allen and the rest of the set will be moved into his room when he’s ready for his big boy bed. I love their furniture. All their pieces have a very traditional look and so well made! You can purchase that here. His chair we plan on switching out eventually, most likely to something leather and lean but this glider is SO comfortable, I can’t part yet.

We have two banners hanging in his room. They were both DIY projects. The burlap Finn banner I got from Michaels, you could find here and I just used black paint for his name. The one I have hanging over his bed was actually made from post cards we had purchased on our honeymoon and I loved the idea of displaying them for him to enjoy.

On to my favorite corner of the room- Finns corner! The little leather hide on the floor we purchased from an awesome leather shop in downtown Seattle, I’ll never remember the name but maybe we’ll go again and I’ll let you know. His wicker rocking chair was actually a gift from my Grandmother to me when I was his age and my mom kept it. I secretly thought “why did you keep this, now I have to find a spot for it” but am SO GLAD SHE DID! He loves having his own little rocker and I love the vibes it sends. I scored those baskets from Home Goods and his hooks from Hobby Lobby. I could not pass up on having little tree hooks for all his mini adventure gear and toys.

His shelves were built by Brad and are probably my favorite items in his room. I love the leather straps and the pop of color on the bottom is so fun for a child’s space. I have been asked a couple of times about them and am thinking Brad will have to make a Balancing Babies debut with a tutorial for ya!

My newest piece from Small Wood Home was a gift from a wonderful soul, Dawn (catch her on insta @partytildawn) and was exactly what I have been looking for. I remember sitting on his nursery floor, nine months pregnant, turning the last page of the story quoted, bawling. It’s so beautiful and such a sweet sign for my forever baby boys room. Even if you aren’t looking for that exact quote they are currently having an awesome sale, it’s a must check out, such cute stuff, linked in the photos above!

If you’re wondering where his toys are, they’re hiding in the closet at night and sprawled around the floor all day. I’ve linked some more of the accent pieces we used below.

And that’s all folks! That is the tour of Finns room, FINALLY feeling complete, after working on it for two years. Now to focus our energy into our second favorite part of the house, the outside! Brad and I are currently obsessing over our outdoor space and so excited to start really digging our heals into that. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Live Inspired,

Mandi
